National Speech and Debate Association: The National Speech and Debate Association oversees the National Tournament, which has been around since 1925. Students qualify for the National Tournament through District Tournaments. Victoria West High School is a member of the Gulf Coast District of the NSDA.

NIETOC: The National Individual Event Tournament of Champions is a national tournament just for Speech events. Students qualify through NIETOC Bid tournaments.

Texas Forensic Association: The Texas Forensic Association oversees the TFA State tournament. Students qualify though Invitational Qualifying Tournaments (IQTs).

UIL Speech and Debate: UIL Speech and Debate oversees the UIL System of Speech and Debate competitions. Students have the opportunity to go to State after competing at the District and Region Levels.
