First Robotics Team #9121
First Robotics is an internationally recognized youth multidisciplinary STEM program that is administered through the University Interscholastic League (UIL) to schools. Students are encouraged to bring STEM awareness to others by engaging in community outreach. This program encompasses subjects such as engineering, CAD design, computer coding, merchandising, public speaking, and business administration. The team competes at least twice a year with competition season starting January and ending in late April. In the off season, students meet after school to discuss design ideas and participate in community STEM outreach.
The Victoria West First Robotics Team started under the vision of the Victoria West Engineering CTE Teacher, Cheryl Clark, in 2022. The team moniker of "Wild West" was chosen by our students to represent the rural and dynamic area of Victoria County. In 2022-2023, the team brought robotics demonstrations to local youth from the YMCA afterschool program as well as local middle school students. First Robotics believes in building students, in addition to robots.
We are Victoria West First Robotics Team #9121, the "Wild West"!
