Level 2-4 courses focus on developing creativity, and an artist's voice while enhancing techniques, knowledge of media, and theme creation.

Digital Art

All Art 2,3,4 and AP Art students are required to compete in VASE (Visual Art Scholastic Event) in the Spring.

Prerequisite : Level 1 Art Course

Drawing/ Painting 2

Drawing II:  Exploration of drawing and dry media like graphite, colored pencils (Prisma), ink, pastels

Painting II:  Exploration of watercolor, acrylic, and oil paint.

Sculpture/ Ceramics 2

Ceramics II:  Exploration of clay sculpture, hand-built pottery, and glazing

Sculpture II:  Exploration of building using paper, clay, wire, plaster,fibers, glass, cardboard, wood, etc.

Digital Art and Media 2

Digital Art and Media II: Exploration in Digital Illustration, Digital Mixed Media, Photography, Animation and Video Production.

AP Portfolio

YEAR THREE AND FOUR: 

Students should speak with their art teacher about the best path for them.

Drawing III and IV; Painting III and IV; Digital Art and Media III and IV, Ceramics III and IV; and Sculpture III and IV.

AND/OR

AP Portfolio:  Instead of taking an exam, AP art students create a portfolio of art that is submitted to College Board for college credit.  Students can take AP Drawing, AP 2-D Design, and AP 3-D Design.

AP Portfolios are DUE May 10, 2024 at 8:00pm.

AP Drawing:  Drawing intense portfolio that showcases line quality, light and shade, rendering of form, composition, surface manipulation, illusion of depth, and mark making.  

AP 2-D Design:  2-D Design students have more creative freedom than AP Drawing because students can explore photography, digital media, printmaking, collage, encaustic, and fiber arts.  

AP 3-D Design:  3-D Design students create a portfolio of sculptures and other 3-D artworks.
