On Friday, April 1, Victoria ISD selected Teresa Reeder, secretary at Victoria West High School, as its April Champion of the Month.

VISD and Atzenhoffer Chevrolet partnered in May 2021 to highlight one VISD staff member each month as its Champion of the Month. This staff member is nominated by their peers for showing commitment to going above and beyond in everything they do each and every day.

At VISD, we know our best work is done in partnerships and groups, all while aiming toward a common goal. The goals of the district are larger than the team, and the goals of the team are larger than the individual. Our Champion of the Month lives this belief every day, and in turn, receives a brand new Atzenhoffer Chevrolet truck to drive around for the next month.

“I’m very humbled because this is just what we do,” said Reeder of earning this honor. “This is just what (Victoria) West is.”

Reeder received one of the 11 nominations across the district for March. She had also nominated one of her peers for this honor as well.

“I can think of no one more deserving,” said Paul Fleener, VWHS’ Principal in his nomination of Reeder. “She does a wonderful job of creating a family-type atmosphere at West, finds ways for staff to express their appreciation, gratitude and joy for our students and each other and regularly goes above and beyond her assigned duties to perform these tasks. She is a big part of what makes the statement ‘West is Best!’ so true.”

From VISD, we thank you, Teresa, for making us #VISDProud!
