Victoria ISD is celebrating a strong start to the 2026–27 school year as the district's Freshman 2 Freshman (F2F) initiative welcomes its first cohort of participating students, providing freshmen with the opportunity to begin earning college credit while making the transition into high school.
Developed in partnership with Victoria College, the F2F program is designed to introduce students to the expectations and opportunities of college-level coursework from the very beginning of high school. By participating in dual credit courses as freshmen, students begin building college-ready skills, gaining confidence and creating momentum toward future academic and career success.
At Victoria East High School, 56 freshmen have successfully enrolled in dual credit courses through Victoria College, participating in either EDUC 1300 or COSC 1301.
At Victoria West High School, 73 freshmen are enrolled in dual credit courses through Victoria College, participating in EDUC 1300, MUSI 1306, or MUSI 1310.
With 129 freshmen participating districtwide, the first cohort demonstrates strong student interest in the program and reflects Victoria ISD's commitment to expanding access to rigorous academic opportunities. By allowing students to earn college credit during their freshman year, the district is helping students establish a strong foundation for success while encouraging them to envision a future that includes higher education and career readiness.
As Victoria ISD continues elevating excellence throughout the district, the F2F initiative represents another investment in preparing students for success beyond graduation by providing meaningful opportunities that challenge, support and inspire them from their first day of high school.
