Victoria Independent School District is proud to continue the GownShare Initiative for its second year, following a successful pilot launch in 2024. Recognizing the financial challenges that some students face when purchasing graduation gowns, VISD is once again accepting donations of gently used gowns to ensure all seniors can fully participate in this milestone event.
Graduation marks a significant achievement in a student's life, but the associated costs can sometimes be prohibitive. The GownShare program helps alleviate this financial burden by repurposing graduation gowns that have remained unchanged in design for several years. This initiative is a testament to VISD’s commitment to educational equity and community support.
Through GownShare, VISD aims to:
Reduce Financial Barriers: Making graduation more affordable for students and their families ensures that every senior has the opportunity to walk the stage with pride.
Foster Community Engagement: This initiative allows community members, alumni, and local businesses to contribute to student success, reinforcing a spirit of generosity and unity within VISD.
VISD will continue working with VISD Success Academy, Victoria East High School, and Victoria West High School to distribute donated gowns to students in need. Gown availability depends on the number of donations received.

Donation Guidelines: All donated graduation gowns must be in good condition. The VISD Connections staff will inspect and clean all gowns before distribution.
Students in Need: Seniors needing a gown should contact the Student Support Coordinator at their home campus. VISD Connections will fulfill requests and send the gowns to the student’s home campus for pickup.
How You Can Help
If you or someone you know has a graduation gown from 2020-2024 in good condition, please consider donating it to one of our drop-off locations. Your donation can make a meaningful difference for a student who may not otherwise have the means to purchase a new gown.
Another way to support GownShare is by spreading the word. Help raise awareness about this initiative by sharing information on social media, encouraging alumni and families to donate, and letting others know how they can contribute. The more people who participate, the greater the impact we can make for our graduating seniors.
VISD’s GownShare program is part of our mission to ensure that every student can grow their genius and Find Their “AND.” By reducing financial barriers, we empower students to celebrate their achievements without worry.
We invite our community to help make this program an even greater success in 2025 by contributing to GownShare and supporting the future of our graduates.
Reminder: Gown availability depends on the number of donations received.
