Victoria Independent School District is proud to announce that Ethan Reed, a junior at Victoria West High School, has been selected for the prestigious Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Texas All-State Band.
Ethan’s achievement places him among the top 2% of high school musicians in Texas, a distinction earned by fewer than 2,000 students from the more than 70,000 who entered the competition. The rigorous selection process required Ethan to advance through three levels of auditions: District Tryouts in November, Region Tryouts in December, and Area Tryouts in January.
As a Texas All-State Band member, Ethan will travel to San Antonio in February to rehearse and perform with the state’s finest young musicians during the TMEA Music Conference, the largest gathering of its kind in the United States.
Ethan’s accomplishment adds to Victoria ISD’s proud tradition of musical excellence, marking him the eighth VISD All-State musician since 2010, with five from Victoria East High School and three from Victoria West High School.
