Dear Booster Clubs, Students, and Fans:
I would like to take a moment to thank you all for your continued support of our students and teams, particularly during this exciting playoff season. We truly appreciate the enthusiasm and generosity that the Booster Clubs have shown toward enhancing the experience for our athletes, band members, cheerleaders, and drill teams.
As many of you know, our district has long believed that the football team, band, cheerleaders, and drill teams are all integral parts of the "full unit experience" at our games. This collaborative spirit helps create the kind of school atmosphere that makes our community proud. It is with this in mind that we reached out to the Booster Clubs for assistance with funding the travel expenses for our first playoff game. Specifically, we requested support to secure charter buses for our travel to GP, ensuring all our groups could arrive together before the start of the game.
For our next playoff game, we are pleased to inform you that students already have an early release on the calendar. This will allow us to use standard buses, which will leave earlier than our usual schedule allows, making it more feasible to accommodate everyone involved. We are hopeful that this will ease some of the logistical challenges, and we will be able to continue providing a great experience for all students and their families.
I also want to clarify that department heads are not permitted to exceed their allocated budgets. This means that while we have worked hard to coordinate and plan for the most efficient travel and experience for all our groups, the availability of additional resources is constrained by existing budgetary limits.
As we look toward future playoff games, I want to assure you that the district is committed to covering as many of these expenses as possible. Our district will begin adding a new revenue stream by increasing the fee for the use of our stadium when out of town teams use Victoria's facilities for their events. This additional fee assessed based on their ticket sales is in line with how other communities charge for similar services. We believe this additional revenue stream will generate more funding so that our district can fund the travel for Band, Cheerleaders, and Drill Teams for as many playoff games as our Warriors advance!
We greatly appreciate your understanding as we balance the excitement and importance of these games with the fiscal realities we face. Your partnership in supporting our student-athletes and performing arts groups is invaluable, and we look forward to continuing this collaboration as the season progresses.
Thank you again for your unwavering support. Go Warriors!
