VWHS Parents/Guardians,

We understand your frustration regarding the morning drop-off traffic changes that were implemented today.

For many years, the traffic issues at Victoria West High School and Cade Middle School have been voiced. The District has researched and implemented different approaches; however, no solid solution has been established. The District has received suggestions such as having buses drop off and pick up in front of the school and having parents drop off in the back. Without a covered drop-off, the campus will have issues with students getting wet on inclement weather days.

The District and the campus are using the last couple of weeks of school to pilot ways to alleviate congestion in traffic on the highway to the drop-off area to improve safety and parent convenience during morning drop-off. We understand how making a change to traffic distribution will always be a challenge. We sincerely apologize for any disruption to your day and greatly appreciate your participation as we work to develop a permanent solution.

On Tuesday, May 16, a parent survey will be sent to VWHS and Cade MS parents/guardians via email through the Parent Notification System. We are asking all parents/guardians to provide input and your experience with the different traffic patterns that you have experienced. Parent feedback is essential for the District and campus in creating a solid plan moving forward in partnership with those who are a part of morning drop-off. The input submitted will be reviewed during the summer so that the District and campus can develop a positive solution to this problem.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make the necessary adjustments. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further concerns.

Thank you for your continued support.
