District Score Increases Four Points as More Campuses Earn A and B Ratings
Victoria ISD continues to elevate excellence across the district as reflected in the 2026 Texas Education Agency (TEA) AโF Accountability Ratings that reflect performance from the 2025-26 school year. For the second year in a row, VISD improved in every domain evaluated within TEAโs State Accountability System. The latest results demonstrate continued academic progress, with more campuses earning A and B ratings and several schools moving closer to the next performance level.
Districtwide, the 2026 ratings include:
3 campuses earned an "A" rating - Mission Valley Elementary, Vickers Elementary, and ECC at F.W. Gross.
10 campuses earned a "B" rating - Crain, Schorlemmer, Hopkins, DeLeon, and Torres Elementary Schools, Smith STEM Academy, Cade Middle School, Victoria East and West High Schools and VISD Success Academy.
4 campuses earned a "C" rating
3 campuses earned a "D" rating
2 campuses earned an "F" rating (1 campus was designated as a forced failure)
Together, these results represent meaningful momentum across Victoria ISD. Thirteen campuses earned an โAโ or โBโ rating this year, reflecting continued growth across elementary, middle and high school levels and the work taking place in classrooms throughout the district. This represents a 9% increase in โAโ and โBโ campuses when compared to the previous school year.
Several campuses celebrated significant gains this year. Hopkins Elementary made one of the districtโs largest jumps, improving two letter grades from a โDโ to a โBโ in just one year.
Crain Elementary and Victoria East High School each advanced from a โCโ to a โB,โ adding to the growing number of VISD campuses reaching higher levels of performance.
That progress can be seen districtwide, with 59% of VISD campuses now earning an โAโ or โBโ rating, up from 50% last year.
VISD also reached a historic milestone: for the first time since Texas began assigning AโF accountability ratings to campuses in 2019, all three VISD high schools earned a โBโ rating at overall scores of 86, 87, and 88 โ a significant accomplishment for secondary education across the district. The College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) rate for the district was 92%, and the graduation rate was 98.2%, slightly above last yearโs percentages and continuing to exceed the state rate.
Campus success extended beyond overall ratings, with VISD schools earning 22 Distinction Designations for outstanding performance among the top 25% of similar schools across Texas.

Of the VISD campuses eligible to earn Distinction Designations, 55% earned at least one distinction.

VISDโs 2026 District Accountability Rating
Victoria ISD continued its upward trajectory in the 2026 TEA Accountability Ratings, earning an overall district score of 78, a four-point increase from last yearโs score of 74.
While VISD maintains a โCโ rating, the district is now just two points away from earning a โB,โ demonstrating measurable progress as the instructional systems and academic strategies implemented over the past two years continue to take hold across the district.
Chandler Elementary Accountability Rating
Chandler Elementary earned a calculated overall score of 62, which falls within the โDโ rating range. However, under Texas Education Agency accountability rules, a campusโs final rating can be capped at 59 when certain performance measures fall below required thresholds. Because Chandler did not meet those requirements, the state-required cap was applied, resulting in a final โFโ rating despite its calculated score of 62. Additional support systems have been provided at this campus for this school year.

The 2026 accountability ratings reflect measurable progress across Victoria ISD while also identifying opportunities for continued growth. As the district enters the 2026โ27 school year, VISD will build on this momentum through a continued focus on high-quality classroom instruction, targeted professional learning, strong instructional systems and campus support designed to improve outcomes for every student.
Victoria ISD remains focused on building upon the progress made and continuing to elevate excellence across every classroom and campus. In the meantime, VISD is pausing to celebrate the victories.
