Victoria’s Education Leaders Come Together to Empower Children, Students, and the Community with a Strong Welcome
The Victoria Independent School District (VISD) Communications Department recently brought together Victoria ISD, Victoria College (VC), and Texas A&M University–Victoria (A&M–Victoria) to produce a collaborative welcome video celebrating the arrival of A&M–Victoria President, Dr. Christian Hardigree.
Conceptualized, filmed, and produced by the VISD Communications Department, the video showcases the unity and shared commitment among Victoria’s educational institutions to provide high-quality learning opportunities from early education through college and university and beyond. The partnership reflects the power of collaboration in building a strong educational ecosystem that benefits students, families, and the greater Victoria community.
“This is an extraordinary time for education in Victoria,” said Ashley Alvarez, Executive Director of Communications for Victoria ISD. “For the first time ever, our public school district, community college, and university systems are led by strong female leaders who are deeply committed to collaboration, opportunity, and excellence. Together, they represent what it means to be a strong community built on strong schools.”
“This project is a reflection of our shared mission to ensure students in Victoria have access to an exceptional educational experience at every stage of their journey,” said Sheila Collazo, Superintendent of Schools for Victoria ISD. “When our schools, colleges, and universities work together, we build pathways that strengthen our students and our community.”
“This partnership strengthens the pathways that empower every student to reach their fullest potential,” said Dr. Jennifer Kent, Victoria College President. “At the heart of Victoria College is a deep commitment to building a trained, educated workforce that drives upward economic mobility in our region. Together, we’re creating more opportunities for students to succeed and thrive in meaningful, high-wage careers.”
“The connections we are forging through this partnership will have an amazing impact on the Victoria community and education in the region,” A&M-Victoria President Christian Hardigree said. “I am excited to join this community and be part of the effort to build better cooperation and partnerships that will expand opportunities for students from the first day they enter kindergarten to the moment they walk the stage to accept their college degree. A&M-Victoria is excited to be part of this unified vision for Victoria’s students.”
This marks the first time all three educational institutions in Victoria have collaborated on a communication project. The welcome video not only celebrates Dr. Hardigree’s arrival but also underscores the historic moment for Victoria’s education community with three dynamic female leaders now serving at the helm of the city’s major educational institutions: Ms. Sheila Collazo, Dr. Jennifer Kent, and Dr. Christian Hardigree.
The video was filmed across multiple locations representing each institution and highlights the seamless K–12 through college and university pathway available to Victoria students. From elementary classrooms to college classrooms and the university campus, the production captures the shared vision of preparing students for lifelong success through education.
The video will be available on VISD.net, YouTube.com/VictoriaISD, and each institution’s social media channels.
