Natasha Wedderburn

About Me

Natasha Wedderburn is currently a Environmental Systems & Principles of Health Science Teacher at Victoria West High School. Last year she taught Biology (an EOC/STAAR tested area).  She also serves as the Junior Class Officer Co-Sponsor, Cheer Assistant Director and Powerlifting Coach. Prior to moving to Victoria, Texas, Mrs. Wedderburn served as a middle school Science, Health Sciences, AVID and College and Career Readiness teacher with Baltimore County Public Schools and as a grade 6 Science and AVID teacher at Lake Charles Charter Academy in Lake Charles, Louisiana.  During her time at BCPS she also completed her Science Department Chair Training.   

She graduated from Coppin State University in 2014 with a BS in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Philosophy. While at Coppin she completed a thesis on Organ transplants and the Role of the Immune System in Rejection, she was inducted into Beta Kappa Chi Scientific Honors Society, a member of the STEM club, the Academic Research Advancement Academy and Army ROTC. Natasha is also an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Tau Eta Zeta Chapter, serving at the chapter and state leadership levels. She earned her first master’s in Biotechnology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County where she researched and created a commercialization plan to grow vanilla beans in a greenhouse setting in the United States. In May 2020, she wrapped up her second masters in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Leadership at UMBC where she works with Dr. Jiru to implement the Coppin Mile Project and other small projects to sharpen her skills as a project manager, grant writer, and community outreach coordinator. While at UMBC, her capstone project was the creation and implementation of the Coppin Mile Project. During this time, she was awarded her first grant from the Natural Resource Defense Council (NRDC), created a business model canvas, formed partnerships with local urban farms and the Baltimore Farm Alliance, hosted engaging events, created a product service plan, marketing plan, a comprehensive investment summary, and pitch deck.  During her time at UMBC she also became a member of the National Technical Association.  Natasha is currently pursuing her EdD in Curriculum and Instruction.  Natasha is also adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at Alabama A&M.

Mrs. Wedderburn is happy to call Victoria her home where her husband Trey Anderson serves at the Athletic Director of Victoria College. While new to the district. Mrs. Wedderburn has graduated VISD’s Leadership Academy as aspiring Administrator, serves a member of the VISD Community-Based Accountability Task Force, a summer school science teacher, summer curriculum writer, Junior Class Officer, Professional development leader, and convocation speaker. During her time Victoria Independent School District, she will pursue both her principal and superintendent certifications
