Career & College Center

The importance of post-secondary education has increased significantly. Preparation, gaining marketable skills and experience are all pivotal parts in your path to success. Future economic stability and career opportunities are driven by the careful action plans that begin early on in high school.

Victoria Independent School District, in partnership with Victoria College, is committed to the individual success of all our students and their post-graduation plans. Victoria East and Victoria West both have a Career & College Center to assist with these plans. Our center is eager to provide help with both academic and non-academic pathways through a variety of services.

Throughout the school year, the Career and College Center arranges various college, university, technical and vocational recruiter visits, as well as military recruiter visits at our Victoria East HS campus. Recruiters have the opportunity to speak directly with our students in the lunchroom commons area during lunch periods, give classroom presentations, or show web-based presentations. If you're interested in scheduling a visit or presentation, please contact Ms. Alexis Vega.
  • GenTX Victoria, a part of the statewide Generation TX movement, is a community-wide collaboration aimed at encouraging an entire generation of Texans to pursue education or training after high school. Throughout the school year, the Career and College Center will have various field trips and events available to students and parents that focus on career opportunities, colleges and universities, financial aid (FASFA) and College Applications.
  • We invite students, parents, educators, businesses, and community leaders to become part of the movement and to support this generation of Texas students. The first step to getting involved with Generation TX is simply to believe in us—believe that we can change the future of Texas.
